Computer Issues

I miss blogging! But I do have a reason why I haven't posted in a while. My computer is making it unbelievably difficult to blog. I can't add pictures, the internet browser is incompatible (I have I.E. 11, the most up to date Internet Explorer, and Blogger doesn't accept it!)

UGHHHH. Makes it so hard.

So bear with me. Hopefully things will get figured out. If  not, I'll have to blog at home, which is hard for me because I like to kill time at work :)

Yum yum yum

Yeah, I splurged yesterday on my food. I've been trying to keep it somewhat healthy but mainly kicking out all the snacks and sugars, which has been good until yesterday.

My boss is taking on a new position at a new company, so we celebrated his last day in his honor. Of course, we had to order the best pizza in town, Carbone's! It's so awesome, like the cheese is nice and golden and crust has a crunch. I love that! Well I couldn't just stick to a couple pieces, oh no. Like 5. Ugh... Then of course my coworker brings in her Special K Bars, which hers are seriously the best. They melt in your mouth with their gooey-ness. Yup...I had to have like 3 of those.

And to add on top of that B wanted to take me out for supper (how sweet!) to Agave Kitchen in Hudson. I haven't eaten there in a long time, but I do remember how good their food is! I ate somewhat healthy and got the Southwest Grilled Chicken Burger, which includes homemade guacamole, bacon, habanero jack cheese, and lettuce, with a side of sweet potato fries and Greek lime yogurt sauce. OMG. So good. I ate the whole thing, regardless of it's massive size. B had this awesome triple cheese and bacon burger. That was humongous! He ate that proudly too. So I will have to say, I have to add Agave to my 10 Before 30 list of restaurants to visit.

Tonight I get to hang out with my friend Kory! It's been so long since we've seen each other, possibly over a year, maybe 2? Lordy...I hope it hasn't been that long. She's still up in Fargo getting her Ph.D (she's a go getter), and that's just a long haul to visit for the weekend. But she's home for Spring Break this week! We still haven't made exact plans, but anything goes when she's in town. It's always a blast!

My other girlfriend, Amanda, also received a new position at a new company, and her last day at work was yesterday! I'm so proud of her. She was driving to downtown St. Paul everyday, and that's a jaunt, especially when the weather is crappy, or even when it's not! The traffic is miserable. So now her new position is in Somerset, WI. WAY BETTER commute!!! I made a shadow box craft for her to put on her new desk, which I'll post on my blog once I give it to her. It's so cute! Let's just say I finally got to use my Silhouette Cameo that I got for Christmas! It was so fun!

Well that's all I have for now. Just thought I'd peep in to share some news. Nothing else really going on in my life to share, but hopefully after the weekend I'll have some nice material :)

It's a Beautiful Morning

Ah...finally! It's been decent temperature here in MN. It reminds me of spring, and spring makes me happy. I'm the textbook example of a person that gets winter depression. Now don't get me wrong, I love winter for the activities that it brings, but the lack of sunshine really brings a person down and I lose all ambition for anything and everything. PLUS this winter us Minnesotans didn't even get to enjoy it! Too damn cold! It was very depressing.

But on to a happier note, It's Friday! Yay! B and I both have bowling off tonight, so we finally get to go on a date! it rarely happens that we both are available for a Friday night date, so we're going to take advantage of it. HOWEVER....I don't know what to do!!!! It's such a rare occasion, I'm clueless as to what we could do.

I'm sick of going out to eat, especially when I'm trying to watch what I shovel into my mouth. The movie theater is nice, but you don't really get to enjoy each other's company sitting in a chair in the dark. It's nicer out, but still a little cool to be doing anything outside at night. I'm STUMPED.

But that's all I have for now. Hopefully we'll be able to think of something fun to do. At least I have a job with lots of down time so I can search for things going on in the area :)

Mini Goals

So today I've decided that I really need to set me some mini goals so that I can stay motivated throughout this weight loss/lifestyle change. As of lately, I've only had the big picture in mind, and it doesn't seem to be helping me because I get so discouraged! So I've decided to come up with goals to achieve before the first weekend that I call summer....Memorial Weekend!

Goal 1: Lose 20 pounds.
Now I know to some that doesn't seem like a lot in 3 months time, but it would be a huge achievement for me! I'm hoping to reach half of the weight loss by April 27th when I participate in the Ironman Bike Race (more info to come).

Goal 2: Ditch the old clothes.
I have SO MANY old clothes in my closet/drawers/tubs/bins/floor that I don't even know where to put. Easy solution? Get rid of it! I'm going to finally cut the cord on so much of my old clothes. Some I still have from early college years (that's almost 10 years ago!). New clothes always put me in a happier mood, so once I lose my mini goal of 20 pounds, shedding the old threads should be no problem.

Goal 3: Take care of my skin.
This is another one people might think would be odd, but to me, I need to shape up. I NEVER wash my face at night. Full of makeup...well the minimal stuff that I wear. I've just discovered the magical powers of coconut oil, so I'm going to see if it does the trick of making my skin more beautiful.

Goal 4: Start playing with my Silhouette Cameo and Photoshop.
I had to throw a fun one in there! I received this gem for Christmas from my wonderful grandma and I still have yet to use it! My main purpose was hopefully to get used to using it and designing things so that I can design mine and Brandon's wedding invitations on it for something neat. Also, I went in on the Photoshop program WAY BACK before Thanksgiving, and I still haven't put that on my computer. Another design element for our wedding I'd like to learn hopefully soon!

I'm BACK!

Wow. It's been around 5 months since I've last blogged. When I quit before, I felt like it was almost a chore to me. It wasn't fun anymore. But now I've gotten back in the habit and ready to start writing again. Yay yay yay!

So since the start of the new year, I've been dedicating myself to a healthier lifestyle and incorporating more exercise into my daily life. It still is and will always be a struggle for me. I'll never be perfect and never eat the crap that I used to. I've already slipped since the new year, MANY times. But this time, I'm not quitting. I'm determined to set my mind in the right direction this time.

I just have to keep thinking about my wedding. I don't want to be a chubby bride. HERE COMES THE BRIDE...ALL FAT AND WIDE. It's a fear of mine that I will despise looking back at my wedding pictures and seeing a fat me on my wonderful day, that could have been a lot more wonderful if I were thinner.

So how am I going to do it? Small steps. 10 pound increments. I'm almost down 10 from the new year. GO ME! It should have been more, but I slipped for a few days and ate like there was no tomorrow. I've been going to the gym a lot more and actually focusing on exercise routines to get me through. Here's what I've been doing this past week:
10 minutes of elliptical
10 minutes on stair mill
3-4 sets for each of these exercises:

15 bicep curls
10 flys
10 rows
10 tricep dips on the bench
10 tricep lateral pulls
15 squats with weights on my shoulders

2 sets of each:
15 leg raise thingys (not sure what they are called)
15 Russian twists
This routine has been going well for me. I really like it! So hopefully I can stick with it for a while and increase my weights over a period  of time to get stronger and leaner!
